The Marina is located on a sandy plain at the right side of one of the biggest most navigable rivers - the Guadiana River that forms the southeast border between Portugal and Spain. It is situated right in the mouth of the river, in the centre of Vila Real de Sto. António, only a few minutes from the town’s Sports Centre and 3km from Monte Gordo Bay and their golden sand beaches and Casino. The coast is formed by sandy beaches.
Near the entrance of the river the 10m line lies about 2M offshore. Approaching from the west, the conspicuous marks are Monte Gordo high buildings and Vila Real Lighthouse. Approaching from the east, the apartment books of Isla Cristina are conspicuous. It is also conspicuous from offshore the suspension bridge located some 2M north of the town Vila Real de St. António. There are 2 restaurants in the Port, 1 at north and other at south where a regional cooking is well served with delicious taste.
In spite of rather depth in the bar, have a minimum of 2 m in the ebb tide, and with bad weather shall have attention if the wind coming from south quadrant. The river streams run between a breakwater (W) and dike (E), bearing 335°. Its tops lights are separated about 550m. Outside you find 2 pairs of buoys (nr. 1 to nr. 4), Following between the buoys heading to west mole and maintain always the same course about 50m from shore up to the marina entrance. Inside the river its’s well visible the banks and the city, as well as the Marina’s entrance, where you find the services and help of dock master for assisting the boat manoeuvres.
