Setúbal is a natural port located on the Sado estuary 40kms from Lisbon. The port offers shore front activities including fishing and also has a large area dedicated to maritime commerce. Setúbal is one of the leading entry points for roll on/roll off cargo in the Iberian Peninsula. 23kms west of Setúbal lies the port of Sesimbra which covers an area of 69.3 hectares. The majority of this area is made up of shipyards with 11.2 hectares dedicated to maritime tourism. |
